AQbD Working Group Publishes in PharmTech

The IQ Consortium’s Analytical Quality by Design Working Group (AQbD WG) has published the results of a survey on implementation of Analytical quality by design concepts by small- and large- molecule companies in Pharmaceutical Technology.
The survey was submitted to IQ Consortium member companies and completed by 16 member companies, including 12 large (>10,000 employee) companies and four smaller companies. It found that more than two-thirds of companies surveyed had implemented AQbD in some regard, with larger companies having been more likely to implement AQbD concepts. The survey also addressed technical aspects of AQbD and challenges with implementation, business considerations, and regulatory experiences. Overall, analysis of survey responses led to the conclusion that implementation of AQbD can offer operational benefits, and that this encourages continued interest and application.
