Speaker
James E. Cummins, Jr., Ph.D
Chief, Preclinical Microbicide and Prevention Research Branch
PSP/DAIDS/NIAID/NIH

In his presentation, Dr. Cummins will 1) describe the mission of the NIH and available NIH resources to advance pediatric formulations, 2) demonstrate the intention to use these resources to develop a new age-appropriate formulation for HIV or TB, and 3) highlight the opportunity to use these resources to supplement existing efforts and strengthen partnerships across organizations. He will provide details related to ongoing work in this area at NIH, and identify NIH resources that can be used to further develop these important formulations. In addition, he will emphasize the interest of NIH in identifying new partnerships to more rapidly advance age-appropriate formulations and describe how potential partners can access these NIH resources.
